Ashley was first introduced to Manual Lymphatic Drainage during her internship as a medical massage therapist — working with cancer patients whose lymph node removals had left them with chronic, painful swelling. Watching MLD reduce that swelling in real time was the turning point.
Today she’s seen 200+ post-op clients, holds active certifications from MLD Institute, ACOLS, and Norton, and is a certified fitter for the top compression brands.
Her Story
From cancer recovery rooms to post-op studios.
01 — How it started
While interning as a medical massage therapist, Ashley worked alongside cancer patients suffering from severe, chronic swelling after lymph node removal. Manual Lymphatic Drainage was the first technique she saw move the needle — and she went deep on it.
02 — Learning the real thing
Noticing the confusion around MLD outside of oncology — especially in post-surgical recovery — Ashley pursued extensive training at the MLD Institute, ACOLS, and the Norton School, mastering the original European Vodder method before refining her approach for plastic-surgery clients.
03 — Amare Healing Arts
In 2018 she opened Amare Healing Arts in Highland Park, NJ. It’s grown into one of the only studios in the region combining Manual Lymphatic Drainage with holistic recovery support, certified compression-garment fitting, and patient education.
04 — Today
Ashley sees clients in person at her Highland Park and Elizabeth studios, fits compression garments as a certified specialist for Lymphedivas, Juzo, and JOBST, and teaches an online recovery course for anyone preparing for surgery.
